I know *I* come out to DU every day and I find links to interesting articles from all over the world here. I couldn't name any of them, most likely, under pressure. So why doesn't she just say something like that?

I survey people for a living. Up until recently one of my survey locations was Downtown Disney. One of my questions was "Which merchandise or retail locations did you visit at Downtown Disney today."
Almost every single fucking time their response was "All of em'".

It's a quick answer that doesn't require any thought, and it's almost always wrong.

Being thorough however, I would give them a list of all the shops, and ask them to name the ones they visited. I didn't have a single case where they actually did go to all of them. Granted some went to quite a few, but many of them only went to five or six shops when we've actually got close to fifty.

Some would get impatient and say "Just markem' all down" Yes, that's the ticket I'll just log this completely inaccurate survey because your to lazy to do any actual thinking.

I had one guy tell me he went to Hard Rock while he was visiting Downtown Disney.
"No, you didn't"
"Yeah I did"
"No, you really didn't."
"How the hell do you know?"
"Cause the Hard Rock Cafe is at Universal."

Her reading, what there is of it, consists of shallow popcorn (gossip mags and whatnot) and niche publications that jill off her existing prejudices (far-right/Talibornagain politics, creationism, etc). Her handlers have carefully coached her not to mention anything that would be perceived by normal people as (further) indications of lightweight frivolity or nutty extremism. She ran into a mental logjam when every title that came to mind was one that her coaches had told her to keep quiet about, and "All of them" was the escape valve she came up with.
