4. Who's the voice near the end?
The one talking about critical thinking?

7. George Carlin - it is from an HBO special in which
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 08:56 PM by IndyOp
he riffs on how the elite don't give a damn about us... They don't want us capable of critical thinking.

:hi:

On Edit: I think this is part of the HBO special in question...

“ … The owners of this country don’t want (educated people).”

“I’m talking about the real owners now, the big, wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. They’ve got the politicians … politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice.

<snip>

But I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking.

They are not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s not in their interests. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they’re getting f----d by a system that threw them overboard thirty f------g years ago.

They don’t want that.

You know what they want? Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and just dumb enough to passably accept all the increasingly sh---y jobs with lower pay, longer hours, reduced benefits, the end of overtime, and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you get to collect it.

<snip>

That table is tilted folks. The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Good, honest, hardworking people in white or blue collars—it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on—good, honest, hardworking people continue to elect these sick c---------rs who don’t give a f--k about you. They don’t care about you at all, at all, at all …

And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. That’s what the owners (of this country) count on, the fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue d--k being jammed up their a------s everyday.

Because the owners of this country know that truth is called The American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it.”

5. Help me out here; Enlighten Me
Ok, I have been argueing with the guy who posted this video on youtube, not here, for the last hour or so. He posts a slew of vids attacking hillary, obama and edwards, or the "HOE" candidates as he calls them. And I guess I just don't get it. He claims to be a democrat and yet is telling me that the "HOE" candidates are the ones responsible for killing our troops. I suggested to him that if he is really a democrat his time might be better spent attacking the republic party. Am I wrong here? I know hillary can seem insincere, obama has been dodging the "cut of the funds" questions and edwards... well he is just being ignored by comparisson. But still, the reason, the main reason, the republic party was so strong was it's party unity; that and the ability to lie without conscience. Wouldn't party unity only help the democrats? Help me out with this on.

6. Hillary and I believe Edwards voted for the war and argued they were "fooled"
into believing that if Saddam got a handful of nukes, he would actually be a threat to us even though it would be gauranteed suicide for his whole country for him to nuke us or give them to terrorists who did so.

I would respect a democrat who told the truth or at least told a more palatable lie, like "I thought we'd get cheap oil" or "I thought the war would be a success and I wanted the political boost" or "I was hoping for some bucks, an exec job, or a spot on the board of an oil company."

8. Wouldn't party unity only help the democrats?
Unity doesn't help unless the goal is good, decent, moral, just. Right now there are still way too many Dems who seem more than willing to sell their souls to keep their jobs -- including those who voted for this damned war KNOWING full-well that Hussein did not have WMDs, knowing full well that the motives were all about profit.

I am open to Obama and Edwards. I've shut the door on Hillary - especially since she hinted that we might need to leave troops in Iraq permanently - that is an obvious kowtow to the corporate elite who control this nation.

14. Help's On The Way...........
It's really simple.

If you vote to fund war, you support war. Period.

Any questions?

I am against Republicans voting to fund war as well.

Does this clear up your confusion?

Probably not.

I'm sure you still think I'm a Republican or something, but I'm not.

I made this video and others to illustrate the fact Democrats can stop this war if they want to:

By simply filibustering/blocking Bush's $120 billion war bill.

Problem is, Democrats don't want to defund this insane war.

And you wonder why I make videos about this fact?

Have a nice day............

15. Republicans don't stand a chance anyway
(if the elections are not rigged - see the case of the firing of US attorneys)

So i't be a waste of time to focus on them. Most repubs who haven't switched by now probably won't ever vote Dem - let alone for a Dem like Kucinich.

Fact is there is a lot of differentiation in political views among the dem voters, and accordingly a lot of differentiation between candidates.
If you think that what Kucinich says is true and relevant, and that he's saying things that should be said but aren't said by the other Dem candidates, then it's hard not to strongly oppose other Dem candidates.

In fact my candidate pointed out that BushCo was politicizing the war before the IWR!

Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 09:33 PM by sellitman
No one else measures up so far. At least no one actually running as yet.

This guy has all the right stances and yet all we hear about are Hillary, Edwards & Obama.

I dunno?

13. I'm mystified too.
How can anyone on a Liberal or Progressive board support anyone other than DK?

DK IS the ONLY Liberal Democratic Candidate.

The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those
who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
