6. no disputing that, lol
He's a smart guy though, and runs his focus groups well. He's interesting to listen to, he gave a very illuminating interview with Bill Moyers several years ago. He's the kind of guy Dems can emulate a little bit in terms of how to effectively use language etc, to resonate with voters.

20. No argument from me, but he sure did a good job with his re-naming of
the potentially negative policies for the Repubs -- 'energy exploration' for oil drilling, etc. He's sharp. But yes, an ass. :)

9. I remember that in 2004, Kerry generally did well with this guy's groups.
I don't think much of him at all. I think he works for/with the Republicans. He tries to find ways to defeat Democrats. That is what he is about. He is a fraud.

10. He's a Republican
Edited on Sat Sep-27-08 03:41 AM by Wetzelbill
He's a good pollster though. You just have to understand his job is to get info and use it against Dems. He's the guy who did all the focus groups that said to link Saddam and 9/11. He didn't say to say Saddam did it, just to use them in proximity. That's been a standard GOP tactic for years, they use them in conjunction with each other without actually saying Iraq and 9/11 were linked.

He's very good at his job, but he's definitely not somebody on our side. In terms of credible focus group info like this, he's good. He's paid to be accurate, because if he didn't really know the numbers he'd be fired in a heartbeat,

17. I agree with you. His information is not reliable because he
sells it to the Republicans who use it against the interests of the very people from whom Luntz gets it. He is a horrid person.

16. Wow! I took her comment in completely different context!
I took her meaning to be surprised by Obama's ability to articulate so well on foreign policy, which is not only supposed to be McCain's strength, but also McCain & the media have repeatedly claimed that Obama is inexperienced.

Interesting! ;)

14. Luntz concluding that "more specifics" were needed from Obama is a classic RW talking point.
I wasn't at all impressed by this. More "emotion" from McChicken?
