No oversight?! Yes, what were you thinking??? The sad thing is, Bush loves no oversight, so he'll be all for that.
As for the admin not having a clue...My theory is the "stimulus package" was so people can pay their mortgages just long enough to get past the elections - but the crisis hit a little earlier than expected. After the election they'd do their "bail out" so they can funnel as much money as possible to their rich friends while we (the common folk) take on the debt. Now McCain wants to hide from all this, suspending his campaign - so he can do what, exactly? Now he might not show up for the debate tonight...
