Ron Paul explains very slowly to The Beard that what they are proposing to do hurts everyone, not just those with savings on Wall Street. Bonus: watch his wry chuckle as Obama gets his digs in at McCain.

1. Sorry.
Libertarians don't have a hell of a lot of credibility with me right now - what Paul wants to do is the same deregulation that caused this mess, times 100.

2. A lot of good points in there from Rep. Paul.
I'm no fan of pure libertarianism, but there's a lot to like about Paul's shooting us straight about the financial effect of the bailout. Temporarily holding a finger over the hole in the balloon of housing prices isn't going to fix anything. Whatever fixes we try, this is going to hurt - a lot. Better that we spend our efforts and money on something that will have a positive long-term effect rather than a quick, horribly expensive patch on a broken economy.

6. I agree with him on this issue too.
One rule that has never failed me is that if Bush is 'for it' - It's Bad.
I have not heard enough about how we are only bailing out the wall street thieves and just temporarily putting a band-aid on the situation. Sorry ,we do have to change the entire system and you start by raising the minimum wage. NO ONE mentions that. Listen to last Fridays Thom Hartmann's show and Ravi Batra for more details.

4. Why to folks complain on DU when someone post s an article with good ideas?
Really, are we not beyond this? Ron Paul, one of the few politicians who actually cares about this country. Keep thinking your way, we may crawl out of this paper bag somewhere around 2020.

13. Small minded on your part!
Would you like to meet my Obama house guest that will be with us until the election. Is your house full? Have you made calls and canvased and purchased supplies for your local Obama office. I have, so you have been very rude to an Obama supporter who is in the trenches. I appreciate every good idea no matter who has it. As a wise man once said, ' Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.' Peace, Kim

14. why yes i have.
i find it hard to know one is an obama supporter, when one posts about ron paul. yes i am an active supporter. i listen and read all kinds of info, not related to my candidate but, i don't drag the repub throwaway onto democratic websites. i have made phone calls, give donations monthly, take part in events, have volunteered my time at the local office. and i comment to people that post about ron paul on du.

16. Please reread your initial response to me.
You were attacking me for not working to to elect Obama. It is hurtful and unnecessary. I say this so that you don't do it to others along the way. Peace, Kim

10. As the poster, I was interested in what Paul had to say
about the issue. I'd be just as interested in what any Republican or Democrat that I trusted to actually tell me what they thought (as opposed to the hoardes of GOPtards that just repeat the party talking points). I'm interested in gathering more data about this "plan" and the shock and awe that is being used to push it.

If you don't want to hear what Paul has to say - and at this point I don't think he represents a threat to Obama's election, do you - please don't watch. I was pretty clear about who it was that was talking.

I'll add that many videos of John McCain are also posted here. Though no one seems to be working for his election instead of Obama.

15. if you're interested in what ron paul thinks about the situation
why would you come to du to find out? why wouldn't you go to his website? john mccain is our adversary and thus i am interested in what the enemy is doing. why anyone here would bring ron paul- a failed repub candidates opinion onto du is ridiculous. i don't care what he thinks, nor rudy, nor freddie-get real.

I'm not going to stop posting things i think are interesting to conform with your narrow definition of what "ought" to be on DU.
