1. Ruh-roh!
Seems like EVERY news outlet has put out their own version of "Palin is a LIAR" in the last 24 hours.

Guess the media isn't too happy about the no-talking-to-Sarah policy!

4. They should have said why McCain invoked the Energy response
It was in response to a question about her foreign policy experience.

8. What's astonishing to me
Is the reaction I envision between an intelligent, independent voter and a mindnumbed GOP automaton who dutifully believes whatever nonsense they've heard on talk radio.

The intelligent voter would say to himself or herself that this certainly sheds some disconcerting light on the McCain/Palin team and Palin's history (not to mention credibility), and utilize this information to analyze just how competent and trustworthy these candidates are. Dishonest claims, half-truths and lack of any genuine substance would rule out voting for McCain/Palin.

The GOP parrot, on the other hand, will just squawk endlessly about poor Sarah Palin and those biased liberal meanies who are "out to destroy" her. The issues of Palin's honesty will be completely and deliberately swept aside amidst yet another teary-eyed diatribe about how the media is full of liberals, scared liberals who are just so threatened by Palin and the fact she "represents America, unlike those know-it-all elites." Then they'll melodramatically announce they will never, EVER watch that news program again and stomp off to find a Kleenex.

We have reached a point in this country where if (if you're a Republican) you don't want to believe facts, then you simply don't have to. You can attack the motives and background of whoever presents any information you don't like, and that automatically invalidates the data (and even if that's not possible they console themselves with fairy tales like "liberals lie all the time so it's OK for us to do so too").

And so we have a massive portion of our population who have decided they are going to make their conclusions first (e.g. Sarah Palin is a brilliant politician with more experience than anyone) and then cherry-pick anything that resembles evidence to support it. They want to believe she really said "Thanks but no thanks" to that bridge to nowhere. They WILL believe it, period. No, they don't want to hear anything about how Palin was actually for the bridge, or that she wound up taking the money from the government anyhow to use elsewhere. And if you point that out, you're just biased. You're just mean. You're just a bully.

It's fucking frightening to me, that I live in a country with so many people who can just believe in whatever shit they like; basically whatever's convenient for them, so they need not actually engage in any critical or intelligent analysis of any issue.

15. Why can't any of these reporters ask the most obvious question?
Palin keeps say "I TOLD CONGRESS 'Thanks, but no thanks ...'"

No she didn't/ Go check the Congressional Record. I bet she has never appeared before Congress on ANY matter, and she most certainly did not appear before Congress saying "Thanks, but not thanks"

But she keeps saying that and nobody challenges it. The public doesn't understand earmarks and exactly when she stopped the project or if she stopped it or if she gabe the money back. That's too complicated.

What is not complicated at all is asking her "Governor, WHEN did you tell this to Congress? Tells us what day that happened? Where can we find that in the Congressional Record?"

She is lying about that and everybody with an IQ over 80 can get that.

Please somebody. Ask the obvious question.

18. Both sides are fiercely battling over her record??? Obama's team has assembled Palin Myth Busters???
WHAT A FUCKING JOKE--"fiercely battling over her record"??? FACTS ARE FREAKIN FACTS! There's no battling involved. It's simply confronting the lying bitch with the facts.

Obama's team has assembled "Palin Myth Busters"??? Gee...that sounds a little on the pathetically euphemistic side. What about something a little stronger like...I don't know, "Palin is a Stupid Lying Bitch" or, at the very least, "Palin Lies Exposed"?
