4. Thank you so much
I am stunned. I usually have my head in books, grappling with the subjects of justice and truth. I like beauty. I am in tears, and I thank you for posting this, because I don't watch much tv, and this is important to see. I "knew" those guys were out there, and I "knew" what they were saying, but I never heard it, never experienced it before.
I downloaded my first group of neighbors from the Obama site yesterday, with plans to go out early Sunday afternoon to talk to them. I have been building up the courage for those last few steps to the door, to the people I will talk to, but the courage is there now. After seeing the Moyers piece, I know and understand that the terror is not in taking those last few steps, but it not taking those last few steps.
Thanks.

8. Bill Moyers is a man the US should be proud of.

I cannot understand why America does not have this man on a pedestal as the epitome of journalism. The way he can approach a storyline that is generally a very serious subject is so powerful that I find it draws me in and I cannot help but to feel sorrow for the victims involved.
I imagine it must be very hard for any people who have been indoctrinated with an ideology whether Right or Left to sit and watch his shows regularly because the can easily punch unrepairable holes in any ideology that it shows them people how flawed they might be in clinging to what they think keeps them going in life.

11. He hit the nail on the head....
I love this guy...
Too many people listen to these haters thinking that their reporting actual news. They buy every word and adopt the mindset. I've read too many msg boards where "liberal" is a bad word; they say we're crazy and stupid. Instead of accepting that there are different opinions, they get emotional and dehumanizing. It's really no different than Hitler & Bin Laden.

13. A very important
discussion. Thanks again HS.

I do hope that we'll see more journalists calling hate what it is, rather than giving the hate mongers a national forum for their bigotry, while we as a society, pretend they're normal.

14. Shock jocks instrumental in Iraq lead-up jingoism
They've been at it for years. Anyone remember the Greaseman, Tracht, from DC? Ultimately retired early on a string of racism lawsuits but what did him in for good was a breast cancer joke too tacky to repeat. He also used to joke about being a Vietnam vet searching for Fonda. Evil stuff 25 years ago. It has only gotten worse.

The false, exclusionary patriotism has been amped up during these hateful Bush years. It was thriving during the hateful Reagan cocoon and Bush the elder also brought his special brand of CIA influenced domestic terror (crack too?).

What especially frightens me is ALL the wacko criminal-justice, prison guard, homeland sekurity types (and many cops too) I have ever met eat this hate speech up.

Bill Moyers is an inspiration. Lets the subject do the talking, his voice just weaves everything together so succinctly. A Moyers piece stays with me for a good long time.
