Me being a liberal, I don't agree with him on a vast array of issues. However on the "war on terror" he's one of the few, even among Democrats, that truly get it.

9. Ron Paul is not actually a Republican, he is a Libertarian and

ran on that ticket for many years. He finally gave up and switched to the Republic party and got elected. Like most Libertarians he can be a bit nutty on some of the stands he takes. Overall he is at least entertaining.
