It's all just entertainment put up by CORPORATIONS. Corporations that twiddle the strings of puppets in DC. "Stand up?" "Call out?" Where would that happen?

5. more He said, She said bullcrap
I am sick of this as well. The host doesn't even react to being called out on his ineptitude. Do they have not an ounce of journalistic shame? For the New MSM, it is all about refusing to do any research and/or confrontation with facts. Instead it is a he said / she said script where the ignorant hosts throw their hands up, chuckle, look at the camera and declare "Who knows who is right on this, I guess they both will just agree to disagree"

The Repukes might as well go on air and say that Bush has brought DOWN the national debt, and had record increased jobs under his watch.

DO YOUR F*%KING JOBS!

6. I happened to catch the end of his appearance this morning and the host simply
ignored what Paul was saying. Even when he repeated it and stated flat out that "the media are not doing their job" they broke for commercial.

To what extent are people going to have to go to bring anything like this to national attention?

Just keep saying the same thing over and over and over again? When the message can be repeated on multiple networks, that message sinks in but does not sound like whining or harping. But if someone like Begala tried that on any show, it would come off badly and the pukes (including the media person, would label it juvenile, etc.

The only way to approach this is to make the individual media talking heads recognize that they, personally, will suffer consequences if they continue to shill for the pukes. I am not talking boycott because that will do nothing. There are always sellouts (Estrich, etc.) willing to self-defeat for a buck. I am talking direct action. By any means necessary.

11. 'They all do it. That's their jobs as legislators.'
That's the defense the Republicans throw out when their own is being targeted as the hypocrite that she is. They're right. They all do it. But Palin's been trotting around the country selling herself as an anti-earmark, anti-pork, agent of change Washington outsider who will deliver reform.

God forbid if a Democrat is on the defensive in a similar debate.

How many mayors of towns with 9,000 people hire lobbyists to bring federal dollars back to their towns? Alaska's per-capita receipts of federal dollars is highest in the nation, if the stats I've seen are accurate.

Again, it's not Palin's credentials and track record as much as it's the hypocrisy.

35. You're right. They do it every time!
Every time the Republicans are on the defensive, they use the same line: Everyone does it.

As if to say that if "everyone" does something bad, deceitful, illegal or shameful - the fact that "everyone" does it makes it okay.

America used to be smarter than this!!!

I don't understand and it angers and sickens me at the same time. The 'Pubs just lie and lie and lie some more and people just lap it up like its gospel. I hear people parroting the words from the lying right all the time and it is driving me slowly insane.

Wake UP, People!! I think that most of them want to believe what they want to believe, the facts be damned. This isn't America...its La-La Land.

16. CBS told the truth about Palin tonight.
In their nightly "Reality Check" feature, they told how Palin keeps repeating that she opposed the bridge to nowhere, then stated the truth: Palin was for the bridge for an entire year, until she pulled state funding for Alaska's half of the cost of it. Took the federal money which had already been allocated and spent it on other things.

They also debunked the earmark lie, saying that she requested 450 million in earmarks--fewer than her predecessor, but still a whopping amount.

Oh, and they finished with this: uncommitted voters are leaning toward Obama by 72%.

They also are going to have a nightly "Where They Stand" segment and compare/contrast McSame and Obama's policy positions. Tonight it was on taxes.

28. Finally someone who speaks the truth - about Palin and the press
Paul Begala is right on the mark. As usual, the press is failing to do its job. The facts do matter - or at least they should. And, yes, the "false debate" that dominates the news cycle is silly when the facts are known. Thanks to CNN for having at least one good commentator.

As if there is such a thing as "telling the other side of the story" when you're discussing facts, CNN had to have Alex Castellanos on board to lie in Palin's defense.

Ordinarily I'd say that Obama shouldn't discuss the second banana of the opposing side at all, but since he DID mention Palin in I think both of those interviews (O'Reilly & Olberman), THIS is what he should've snuck into the discussion.

is that the media did not actually report on the facts, instead they presented two partisan surrogates who argued. In this case obviously Begala was correct, but instead of stating any facts themselves, the media provides viewers with a little "spat" for excitement.
