Curiously, I still don't blame the soldiers, but rather the administration that dumped them there. Most of them are just young men stuck in a hellhole with no reason for being there other than to stay alive through another tour. What they were doing is completely wrong, but it is the product of the circumstances. The blood and shame is on the hands of Bush, Cheney, and the other war criminals who orchestrated this sham.

I agree with you that the real responsibility lies with the civilian gov't that sends troops into war.
