clip from the debate early in the primary.
the last line is the most telling "that everyone understood that there is only one President"...

hmmm, guess when you graduate 894th out of a class of 899 it's hard to pick someone less qualified than yourself, someone who won't steal your limelight...

2. Less qualified, yes. Won't steal the limelight...not so much.
I wonder if he's angry about how much attention she is getting.

5. I was just thinking that myself
I think there will be a lot of Republicans voting for her on election day, rather than McCain.

4. When I woke up this morning, it occurred to me that the real reason that
Palin was chosen for the VP candidate slot was to get her out of the governor's office in Alaska.

Republicans have used that office for their own corrupt purposes for some time now, and she is a thorn in their side. They can't unseat her. They can't recall her. But they can send her to D.C. where she will either play their sick game of selling power for money or become yet another has-been.

Getting her out of the governor's office will free that position for someone who owes the Republican machine his or her political existence. That could well be one of the rationales (in addition to a lot of other rationales being discussed here). Maybe not, but somehow this just fits so well into the Republican way of conducting business -- put a sweet, sincere person out front and do your dirty work in the background. Remember Christie Todd Whitman? She fell for it and has now fallen out of the public eye. They are about to pull a Christie Todd Whitman on Sarah Palin. She is a flea on their backs.

9. Haha! That may be so!
It sure has the feel of a very poorly written B movie script, doesn't it?

I am just shocked that he chose her.

10. Every capable republican woman
with resumes even minimally better than hers has got to be insulted. I don't know that he could have chosen less wisely.

11. I think he COULD have chosen less wisely IF
he'd gone into a grocery store, stopped a random mom and asked her to be his VP.
oh, he'd have to clarify her view on abortion, but that's about it....
