1. I hate the media more than I ever have before. They did this deliberately to hurt

Obama, knowing fully well that supporters would be angry that they didn't get the news first. Also, they just wasted over $1 million on the text message plan because someone blew their cover. I wonder who on God's green earth leaked this information to the press.

2. The media can't be blamed for somebody leaking the story --

and the media did its job. They would have done the same to McCain. No media is going to sit on a breaking story - and this was big.

It's disappointing that it didn't work out as planned, but we sure came close!

When a secret service detail shows up at the house of one of the folks on the VP short list that's kind of a dead giveaway. That's what happened. It wasn't the press, but the secret service that blew the secret.

Either way, the press wasn't going to sit on a story like this until after Obama sent out the message.

The press is not to blame in this instance.

5. Well, let's understand the tactics

The text message had nothing to do with the VP selection. The text message is part of the GOTH strategy. You don't think they are throwing away all those IDs, do you?

Besides, it was real obvious where this thing was headed anyway. There is no way Bayh or Kaine were going to be picked. The only way their name would come up is if Obama's team discovered an "Eagleton" in Biden's past. Bayh brings nothing. Kaine doesn't bring much, and simply reinforces the GOP argument about lack of experience, plus then creases an opportunity for the GOP to fill that spot in Virginia. No way either of those two were ever anything more than emergency picks.

you can't help noticing how intent on listening to Biden Barack is. Did we ever see Bush give so much of his undivided attention to anyone? Well, maybe Barney.
