I believe it shows "their" internal philosophy is filled with inconsistencies and is incredibly unsound.

these people are something else. at least schuster gave it to them. wtf!! imagine what they would be saying if HRC had won and people were complaining of it being fixed from the start. HRC had the money, the name recognition, and the MSM. she was the inevitable one. they were calling it for her before it even started. no one even knew who barack obama was, really. the argument that the DNC wanted obama from the start is ludicrous!

14. That makes sense...
The jab about Obama being in Hawaii was just too obvious. I can't believe there are Democrats out there who will vote for McCain (or not vote at all = same thing) in such a crucial election and if they are out there I could probably count them all on one hand. Most likely these two belong to a group of pig fluffers whose only goal it is to sow discontent within the party. To tell you the truth, Diebold's unjustifiable influence or President Unineuron calling off the elections for some 'national emergency' really scare me at this point.

8. It kind of reminds me of the SDS when they broke up in 1969
Edited on Fri Aug-15-08 01:05 AM by bluestateguy
All of the SDS people grew up, graduated from college, got real jobs and worked to change society from within the system.

But a few snotty holdouts refused to grow up, proclaimed themselves "revolutionaries" and became part of the violent Weather Underground and the Maoist Revolutionary Youth Movement, even into their 30's, long after the SDSers had finished college, stopped doing drugs and had kids and mortgages.

What was once the province of youthful idealism was now recognized for the crackpot extremism that it was.

You had about 100 people who were still trying to re-live the 60's as late as 1977.

That's how I see the two people from this interview.

And the irony is that if their were no primaries, no caucuses and no voting by rank and file Democrats, Hillary would have won the nomination without difficulty. She began this process as the Establishment candidate and had an overwhelming majority of superdelegates and big name endorsements already lined up before a single vote was cast.

25. Some of us in SDS were already grown up, thank you, and
had early on recognized the corporate capitalist system for the murderous machine that it is. I think one reason we are in our current universal freefall is that a radical student movement didn't continue on to provide some alternative to greed and artsy fartsy nihilism.

37. You said it.
And the "change from within" doesn't look like much, in hindsight -- from Nixon to Bush. From Cheney to Cheney. From Rumsfeld to Rumsfeld. With a few coopted (or just plain fake) "liberals" in between, to soften the picture and create an illusion of democratic choice - while hell on earth was visited on any small nation that resisted, however democratically, the neolib/neocon program of the corporate state.

Real "change from within" would first of all manifest as a change in the narrative, in the general political theme, and that didn't happen. What we have now is a casehardened theme of the corporate state realized in several plots, in the US, in Russia, and in China, with all too few (well, actually none) voices "from within" standing up against the absolute monopoly of that view. I expect, as soon as the corporate powers have the mid-east a bit more in hand, their attention will shift to South America and REALLY put the screws to those countries who're attempting actual CHANGE on the ground. An actual alternative to the corporatist agenda. This shift will begin in earnest, of course, with a huge and unified MSM propoganda display totally vilifying the agents of change, the political leaders of the movement for change in SA -- and I don't expect many voices in "the west" will have the courage to stand against it. I don't expect ANY political leaders "from within" the western corporate state apparatus to argue the case for supporting the SA leftist movement for political economic change. Not from the Dems, not from the Repubs.

63. Those snotty hold outs were the real revolutionaries.
The ones that "grew up" sold out the movement and didn't have the guts to do the real work.

Consequently we are now a pathetic fascist nation, just as the SDS correctly predicted.

The fascist agents in the op video have nothing in common with the SDS.

We need a revolution now more than ever.

18. Their argument defies logic.
Ok, so Clinton deserves the nomination because of the Democratic process, which they admit is not votes casted, rather through the selection of each delegate and superdelegate at the convention. Ok, fair enough. Yet they won't accept Obama as the nominee if he wins through selection at the convention?

I sense a bit of hypocrisy.

Obama's starting to look like a Pelosi Democrat. I voted for him to bring back JFK and the Camelot mystique. Then he got the FISA vote completely wrong. Lately he's been talking up the war in Afghanistan. This is not what I voted for.

Cause it certainly doesn't make any sense.

Go vote for mcAncient...or mcBush..or whatever you want to call him. I guess some folks can just hate a candidate for no reason, other than their candidate (possibly) didn't get the nod.

Hey...I'm a Kucinich supporter. I would LOVE to have seen Hillary get the nod (until her campaign started getting in the gutter), but it didn't happen.

I think Obama is going to be branded as "a loser" when his four year term comes to an end. There is NO ONE, short of God himself, that could right the ship that this f*cked up criminal administration has gotten us into in just four years. He can make a start. He might even make a dent. But in reality, he is NOT going to fix this nation. We are screwed for the next 20+ years.

Whether it's Hillary or Obama, they were both going to be losers. But at least they will START to right this nation. And mark my word, the dirty, mud slinging, dispicable repug/neocon/fascists are going to be barking at their heels the whole time in office.

These morons are wasting their time and OUR time. Go to your mcInsane...you idiots.

GOP operatives? Well, that one explains itself.

Racists? Four years of McCain is worth keeping the blacks in place for at least another generation. Not on their watch!

Oligarchy fetishists? Obama won through grassroots movement while Hillary banked on high rollers. It's no longer all in the family.
