Even thought he complained about Congress going out for the August recess, McCain wasn't there to vote on the adjournment resolution.

5. McCain once voted, went and hid out and missed a vote, then came back and voted again

The votes were all held in an hour's span. The vote he missed? It was for an amendment (Biden Amdt 529) to provide 1.15 billion for the COPS program, specifically to "provide state and local law enforcement with the critical resources necessary to prevent violent crime and acts of terrorism...." It was called the "Improving America's Security Act." Cliff Schecter says in his book, and I agree that he probably didn't vote so he wouldn't have to be on record as opposing it during his presidential run. I'm not so sure if McCain is lazy, but he's selfish and he selectively votes or not votes for political expediency. Likely, he's absent so often because he'd rather not have anything embarrassing pop up on his record this late in the game, meaning for the last two years. He's been running for president for a good 4 years now. See a senator running for president misses lots of votes anyway, he can shrug that off easy enough. But McCain is sneaky, he selectively votes based on politics alone. That's a ratty thing to do, imho.

10. its a poor ad for one reason

if the average voter has the ad on in the background, all they get are the McCain talking points. The text should be in a human voice for the casual viewer.
