You damn hippies! Cut your hair.

Notice at the end when her real feelings come out - she threatens to get the kid in a military camp and shave his head.

Could the fascism be more blatant? Or stupid?

Warning: do not watch this video if you have important things to do with your time.

1. Why did you change the title?
Dumb Bitch Ingraham gets owned by a 12 year old boy is a much better title than yours.

2. Cool Mom. Unflappable!
But . . . but . . . she lets him make decisions!

This is some ridiculous shit for 2008.

3. Well that convinced me.
That letting my son grow long hair is probably a good thing.

Ingraham comes over as an overzealous nut trying to force her overly strident standards on everyone.

4. Screw Laura and her perpetual idiocy.
My kid grew his hair longer than mine from 7th grade until the spring of Junior year when he called me up to his room and handed me a ruler and said," measure my hair." I thought it was a bit curious. He had through his own motivation decided to donate it to locks of love.

Ahhh he didn't get a buzz cut nor will he be sporting a McCain lapel pin anytime soon. Believe me in regards to this matter.

I think he looks great either way and I have no bias in this matter whatsoever. /sarcasm

6. My job as a parent is to get my kids grown and independent
stupid stupid stupid. like the Mom said, pick your battles. I have two sons, one always preferred long hair, one very short. Gee, should I love one more than the other? My long haired son is also in a band, and lives on his own, and has, for the most part, since the age of 18.

7. Why, oh why didn't I read the disclaimer first?
That's 6:37 minutes of my life I'll never see again. Plus I wonder if exposure to that Ingraham harpie is cummulative (like radiation)?

8. URGGGHHHH. The hypocrisy, not to mention the overall lameness.
The boy's hair looked appropriate. The "expert" needs to get her bangs trimmed and run a brush through her hair. Unwise to be speaking about appropriate appearance and waxing eloquent on responsible parenting, e.g., parents trying to be "cool," when her style screams TENTH GRADER.

:eyes:

Idiots, both Ingraham and Hart. The mom in the video seems to be doing her job very well.

OKAAAAAAAAAY.

This 40 yo long-haired dude thinks that Betsy needs to get herself out of the 19th century.

17. It's more of a 1950's McCarthyism mentality.
There were plenty of people with long hair in the 1800's. Plus it was common for soldiers to grow a beard.

12. Clearly cable has run out of things to say. Laura can't imagine
that this kid doesn't get teased and then predicts he will be teased in his future. What planet is she from and clearly she hasn't stepped in a school in 30 years.

15. That was the best part (not to imply that the rest set a high bar)...
...it made my mind flash to a storybook scene

Wicked Witch (Laura): "Want some candy, little boy?"

Kid: "Nooooo way."

19. I got three scary things out of that video
1. LI expects a kid would be teased for looking or being different. So the best thing is to make sure he is not different or look different or be different than the rest so he will fit in.

2. The expert thinks that how boys dress at ten is how they dress when going to a job interview eight to ten years from now.

3. If LI could get her hands on him she would "change" him. By force if necessary.

These are scary people. :puke:

20. I've been trying to google "putz" to determine if there's a feminine form of the term.
For Laura and her expert, perhaps the nonsexist "asshole" would be more precise.

21. Couple of things here, how did they make this an "issue"...
or at least try to?

I guess LI forgot about one of the smartest and most clever of our Founders, Ben Franklin...come t5o think of it, they all had pretty long hair, some in ponytails, some covered it w/powdered wigs...not to mention the breeches and stockings...;)

Close haircuts for men didn't come about till the turn of the 18th Century, although there were plenty of people w/moderately long hair, as well as some w/very long hair. WW's I & II brought about short hair, basically because of the lice problems found in the trenches and fields. Avoiding disease on the battlefield was a priority.

But the biggest problem here is that LI, in the true spirit of the RW, wants everyone to conform to her, and by extension, the conservative's view of how someone should look. It is one more attempt to make sure there is a "code" that people should live by.

There are mores and rules that society has, these are in constant flux, changing as time goes by and things are seen differently, or the changes become a necessity.

I have to wonder if LI would have threatened Ben Franklin w/shaved head, just wonder how far that would have gone...:eyes:

22. Did you get the subtle hints that parents allowing kids to wear long hair
also are lenient with drugs????? I think the fact the young man said he didn't watch much TV must have ticked them off as well. (Frankly, I think he said he watched Faux "sometimes" only to be polite.) How dare he! Yep, the fascism was rather blatant.
