10. There used to be.
It was called the Federal Elections Commission. But since Republicans dont' like regulation, that's pretty much gone by the wayside. I'd much prefer to see the Fairness Doctrine come back.

2. Jack Reed and Chuck Hagel need to make an ad and respond to this. Weren't McSame's Pent. buddies ..
Didn't Andrea Mitchell say there are murmurs that McCain's friends in the Pentagon were behind sabotaging the visit at the very last minute? Reed and Hagel need to tell voters that Obama saw wounded troops in Iraq and didn't take the press.

50. That story is internet BS
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 01:58 AM by RamboLiberal
McCain's ad is reprehensible but saying McCain caused the Forrestal fire is Swiftboating as well.

Here's how the planes were on the deck that day. The plane that accidentally fired the missile was aft on the carrier and across the deck from McCain's plane. Note the exausts of the planes were facing the sea. So tell me genius how McCain with a wet start ignited that missile? BTW National Geographic channel is running Seconds From Disaster: Aircraft Carrier Explosion Tuesday at 12pm EDT if you want to see the truth. The show is a series on various disasters and was produced several years ago.

5. Disgusting, appalling, expected. Get used to it.
This guy is appalling.

He better pack a lunch, though, because after 2004, Barack is ready for his attacks.

I actually worry more about the "friendly fire" that is coming. That is the conundrum.

9. John McCain is scum...
He says right in that ad that the he approved it. Well guess what, John, you have long since used up all of the good will you earned for your service and imprisonment for our country. I don't care what you have done in your life prior to this point, you are now lying and approving lies because you know that there is NO FUCKING WAY you can beat Barack Obama in a honest, heads up campaign. You used your bullshit line about him being willing to lose a war to win a campaign, well guess what, you're lying your ass off and attempting character assassination to win a campaign. And if you are showing this complete lack of morals and ethics to win this campaign to be president, what are you planning to do if elected. We've already seen what happens when unethical people say whatever it takes to get elected, then do anything they want anyway. Now you're telling us that the 16 months Barack Obama has been talking about sounds pretty reasonable AFTER you said we could stay in Iraq for 100 years, and we're supposed to believe you? So John, thanks for your service and sacrifice, but go to Hell you lying POS. (and take Liebermann with you)

I don't know what we should attribute it to, but he consistently gets simple facts wrong. John McCain might even be confused about whether he voted for the recent GI bill. When will a reporter ask him?

15. I've said this on another post. McCain is desperate the way Bush I and Dole were desperate
at the end of their campaigns against Bill Clinton. Just throw anything out and say nothing about what positives you bring to the office of the President.

The difference with McCain's campaign is he's in that mode now. Bush and Dole were doing this during the last few weeks of their campaigns. McCain hasn't even officially been named his party's nominee at the convention, that's how early his campaign has gone into desperation mode.

13. What we need to create:
We need to create a series of ads warning the American people what will probably happen if McCain gets his way with regards to Iraq, civil liberties, cultural values and economics. Continued income stagnation and rising inequality. Corporate corruption. Endless war and bloodshed.

We need to scare the public about the implications of four more years of GOP leadership in the White House!

18. What horrible scumbags they are!
McCain's living up to his high school nickname, "McNasty." When I first read of his campaign's snarky comments about that visit, I thought they were really blowing it.. and looking like whining babies. But to do an AD? My God.. who the hell is running his campaign? Guess McCain has no problem treating Obama with the same sleazeball tactics that were used on HIM in South Carolina against Bush in 2000.

McCain will do anything.. absolutely ANYTHING to be president. He reminds me of Elmer Fudd with Cruella deVille's personality.

29. ROTFLMAO ! ! !
I can't believe anyone would swallow that poorly-produced line of sh*t. . .LOLOLOL. "Country first. . " Really, John? Was it "country first" when you ran around boozin' and womanizin' while the taxpayers supported the Naval Academy your pappy got you into? Was it "country first" on the USS Forrestal, or when you crashed a plane and knocked out half of Spain's power, or when you crashed another plane flyin' home from a party time weekend?

I think someone should be mocking these ads, but Obama can't do it - he's too respectful of McSame's "service." But others could AND should. . . it's about time someone asked just exactly what history of service to country McSame has. . .because countries don't win wars with soldiers whose nearly entire combat period is being held as a POW.

1) This was one of the worst quality campaign commercials I've ever seen.

2) Was McCain there for our troops when he "misremembered" the surge or when he speculated our stretched military staying in Iraq for 100+ years?

3) Why has this stupid commercial gotten so many hits on youtube?

Sincerely,
