7. Most of the Republicans around where I live believe it.

They're running with the rhetoric that the Democrats have been repsonsible for higher oil prices because they have been an obstacle in allowing drilling in ANWR and offshore.

Like Cenk said in the video, the Republicans had control of everything for the first six years of this administration. Why wasn't anything done during that time? We've known for years that China and India had emerging economies and were consuming more oil. We've known that we were importing more oil every year to where imports account for nearly 70% of our consumption. We known that all of these factors would result in a disaster if the right conditions occurred (war in the Middle East, falling dollar, lack of R&D for alternative sources of energy, etc.).

McCain IS hurting his cause, and IS making himself look like and ass, to average and above-average smart people.

People of below-average intelligence (or even republican die-hards with IQs hovering around 100) might actually buy it. They might actually have their mouths open while MCain kicks his bullshit around. Sad, but true.

Remember Bush's promise to "jawbone OPEC" to lower gas prices? This has been an issue long before Obama was in the Senate.
