Longest Walk 2: Thirty Years After Historic Cross-Country March, Thousands Walk from San Francisco to D.C. for Native American Rights

Thirty years ago, some 40,000 Native Americans and their supporters participated in a historic cross-country march called the Longest Walk to protest congressional legislation that would have abrogated treaties protecting Native American sovereignty. On Friday, thousands are expected to gather in Washington, D.C. after another five-month-long journey across the country to draw attention to the state of the environment and press for the protection of sacred Native American sites. We speak with the co-founder of the American Indian Movement, Dennis Banks.

3. Thank you for this. To be on this walk, even to watch the walkers must have been incredible

I was so inspired when i read they were going to do this walk. It is such an incredible commitment and gift to the human race. I hope a Documentary was made.

I just got a thank you postcard from donating money during the walk. I loved reading the blogs during the walk. I know they inspired, motivated, activated those who the meet with and spoke to.

The main corporate media might have ignored this incredible American story, but millions of us haven't. Other countries's media have reported on the walk.

I'm sure they can still use donations.. I hope teachers use the info from this website

4. K & R Native treaties abrogated?
This evil cartel does not let up with their mission to completely dominate and destroy everything they possibly can. There will be nothing left of us at the end of * reign.

ALL the laws passed by Bush&Co to me are ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL--and it is our duty to cast them off as such. I do not honor these sitters in the executive branch as my leaders, and do not honor their authority.

THESE LAWS ARE ILLEGAL. PERIOD. Anyone passing unconstitutional laws is committing treason.
