We are in the midsts of the largest transfer of wealth in human history. $700 Billion in oil revenue flows from the U.S. to the Middle East every year because a Republican Administration wasn't interested in weaning the U.S. off foreign oil.

While the U.S. is in recession, see how your petro-dollars are being spent by the Saudi's.

1. I could think of worse ways to spend money

At least they're building instead of spending the majority of their income on destruction like certain other world powers.

They want to create an infrastructure, so when the oil runs out, something is there where folks will still want to live and vacation. Although the reporter's tone seemed bitter, I don't resent them for that.

Edit: I guess all the Texas oil money could have been used to build a lavish vacation paradise too, but I wonder where it all went.
