I hate posting this but it needs to be for the sake of honesty. Although these quotes are not in context, the messages are clear. While many of these Democrats have learned their lesson and won't get fooled again, if there is another domestic terrorist attack and public opinion moves, how many will be able to resist a call to attack Iran? The only ones we can count on were the ones who never supported war against Iraq. This is a crucial consideration as we move into the primaries and decide who we will support.

1. They have not learned their lesson. In regard to Iran, they certainly do not need
any domestic attack or other excuse to promote a militaristic stance.

They are well-trained by rich funders to promote the dominant line/lie. Must attack Iran.

If we are to avoid war, we must depend on people-power to avoid it.

2. Luckily, my one Senator there at the time voted no. Durbin.
My other senator, Obama was not there but, spoke against it at a rally in chicago. they are both against attacking Iran.

5. Ok, the quotes from 1998 don't really count
as that was before Clinton launched his attacks to take out the WMD capabilities that Iraq had at that time. Post 1998 is a different matter . . .

6. thanks for posting
i don't accept anyone whitewashing history, be they R or D.

I am highly suspect of Bush's speech at the end though, because I have seen many stories about political manipulation prior to the war. What about Curveball? What about the 19 words in the State of the Union address? The subsequent Plame affair? The Cheney Energy task force?

There were certainly political manipulations during the war, that book "Imperial Life in the Emerald City" comes to mind...
