Nearly two hours before Obama's historical speech and accepting his role as the presumptive nominee, John McCain attempted to upstage him and steal some of the historic moment. I chose a few choice video clips from each speech and ask you to note the stark contrast between the Democratic and Republican nominees for the presidency.

I don't think McCain has a snowball's chance in hell. :D

2. Jesus, McClown, at least PRETEND you care about the workers of this country.
That last part of his screed is reason enough not to vote for him. So what, John, we just continue with our current wealth-favoring trade agreements to give one class all of the money and take that rocket-ride race to the bottom?

And about that "competition" ruse, McClown: It's not competition when third world workers are always going to be cheaper. It's not competition when you're giving them the R&D future that we should be getting our hands on. It's not competition because we don't MAKE anything HERE anymore. It's not competition because they're already getting the jump on sciences such as nano- and Bio-technology while were trying to destroy science to believe a story and appease a bunch of toupeed wackjobs with crosses. It's not competition when you enable corporations to displace thousands of American workers either by offshoring or inshoring via tax breaks and loopholes. It's not competition when you have nothing on the near or far horizon to replace the outgoing jobs.

What it IS, however, is the destruction of the American middle class, exactly as the well-monied Robber Baron Republican'ts want it. Free Trade and offshore outsourcing helps NO one but the rich and drives down wages in every job they can ship over or bring here. "Everyone in their station and have the good sense to STAY there." A fearful, low paid, divided and powerless middle class is an OBEDIENT middle class.

4. Well said
It appears this will be his position in the GE. I wish now I had put in his audience's response to that segment...it wasn't very enthusiastic. :D
