Vets for Freedom is a swiftboating group now attacking Barack Obama with a nasty smear ad suggesting that he would put America's enemies first. Apparently, John McCain approves -- he calls the group a "wonderful organization."

In addition four of his campaign officials are connected with the group: Senators Lindsay Graham and Joe Lieberman, both campaign co-chairman, also both sit on the Vets for Freedom board of advisors. The group's executive director, Pete Hegseth, is on McCain's Virginia steering committee along with the group's treasurer, Wade Zirkle.

1. What the
Vets for Freedom? More like,Vets for Fascism. Or Vets for the 4th Reich. This is what Freedom looks like? Geeez, that's scary.....These people, and this organization, do not represent the country, military, or any thinking veteran....They are nothing more than bloodthirsty vampires, and ghouls.

2. Lieberman didn't serve in the military (at least not the US military)...
Why would he be on the board of such a group? Oh, that is a poser.

with the "Tiger Woods" remark. Why isn't Woods out there recognizing this sleazy attempt at racial disparity?

4. This makes me ill...Pete Hegseth is a cousin of mine (son of
a first cousin, so I guess that makes him a "once removed") and it just breaks my heart that he could be so misguided as to be involved in this shit. He was raised better than that.
"Vets for Catapulting the Propaganda" would be a more appropriate name for this group.
I love Pete's family and I don't want to say anything personally negative about him; I don't see him often (he was still in Iraq the last time the family got together, for his grandma's/my aunt's funeral) and I would like to believe that he's a decent guy, but I am so completely in disagreement with him on politics, I can hardly stand to watch/listen to him when he's on Tweety or whatever.
Breaks my heart.
Pisses me off.
