It's been almost three years, but watching and listening to this is still heartbreaking.

and this is the US?
I saw a lot of confused soldiers in that video too, guess that's what you get when you block relief workers and send in the troops... duh.

I am distanced from this debaucle by more than 2000 miles, and still cringe when I think of the awfulness that victims went through, and the even worse awfulness of our terrible response.
We had a large forest fire here in our town last summer, and we could not believe the level of NON preparedness we saw across the board, from state to local and even our churches and relief donations were terribly mishandled. it took 3 months of haggling to get a center open for resources, and even then, it was only open for a month.... and people are still waiting to rebuild...many have left over winter...



I am sorry to say, but when the shit REALLY hits the fan for ALL of us on a grand scale (and it will happen, either militarily or environmentally or a combination of the two), we are screwed. I hope we can manage on our own for a long time... because nobody is coming to "save' us (unless it's someone supernatural from heaven...aliens or God, whoever brings the spaceship to get outta here, I'm goin! lol)
