Sen. Chris Dodd went on NBC's Meet the Press with Tim Russert and stated that Sen. Obama will be the Democratic nominee.

OBAMA’S gonna WIN!!!

This little spat between the Democrats is nothing compared to the last 7 years of the republicans.

Bush has poisoned the party and it will not quickly recover.

It’s time for change. And it’s coming!!!

Every Democrat wants "families, common good, and community" at the fore. That's not terribly special.

I'm talking ELECTORAL votes, swing states, executive experience...ticket balancers.

2. Hope Dodd is our next Majority Leader. He can do math and cares about the Dem. party.

He's wrong about the Clintons caring about the party though - see Bill's comments in WV...

4. Dodd has EARNED the Sen Majority Leader spot. He's

proven himself to be a fighter with his FISA filibuster.

7. ??? You "earn" the spot by having your "peers" vote for you.

And you "earn" it by being able to herd cats, talk to the right, left, and center, and push legislation through while keeping the opposition at arm's length. You also need to have a great knowledge of arcane Senate rules.

Not by being a swell guy or even by being obstreperous. In fact, it's the OPPOSITE of fighting that makes for a good majority leader. Sometimes, compromise is how you push bills through.
