Chapman is one of my all time favorites. She is profound when it comes to social commentary through her songs.

1. My Goddess, what an amazingly wonderful uppity woman!

I've always loved Tracy Chapman, but I had not heard anything from her in a while (been playing mommy without a radio - what a sin!). It sounded like a big fuck you to the record execs, but then the graphics say so much more.

Thank you. I do have one complaint though, there was a little thing in the corner that said top pop. No way, no how, is Tracy Chapman pop! That's a load of crappydoodle (I told you I was doing the mommy thing a bit too much!).

2. I have also seen her labeled as country,

no way no how-she can't be labeled. I think her last releases "Where You Live" and "Let it Rain". Crooks and LIars featured her today in their "late night music club", which sent me on a search for concert dates (haven't found one for Atlanta (sigh). I have been a fan for decades.

On edit...It does sound like a big fu to those who wish to control her. Two of my favorites are "Behind the Wall" and "Why"

3. She's kind of bluesy but not exactly, yeah, she's not catagorizable

but she is fabulous.

I found it on you tube a few minuets ago and posted it. I guess I'm tired of all the he said she said type of post. Just wish this primary was over. So we can start to fight the real enemy.
