2. It was practically a nomination acceptance speech.

4. I didn't get that impression.
He started out by very graciously congratulating Hillary and speaking about how he believes we will be unified no matter who the nominee is, so I didn't think the tone was presumptive at all.

5. I didn't mean it was presumptive. I mean that it was concerned with the larger issues
that will concern us in the general election.

7. I'm sorry...
I misunderstood you.

Yes, I agree completely. He hit every note just right, too, and that crowd incredible. :)

6. Fucking Awesome Speech!
So much in this speech is exactly what needs to be said (and heard) in this country. Did the networks carry the whole thing?

Fucking awesome speech. He's already changed me, and I think he is already changing the U.S. of A., by waking people up out of their stupor.

Yes we can, and yes we ARE!

9. DAYUM! Right out of the ballpark!
Thank you, Senator Obama! For showing humility in victory and graciousness in defeat, and for sticking to the issues that really matter.

This guy looks like a real winner to me.

12. More K, More R
Really the speech that Dems should have been giving for a few decades now. Surprising that more DUers have not responded.

13. How is US Energy Policy "funding both sides of the war on terror"?
I can see how American citizens are funding both sides of the war on terror. Paying for the US military through taxes and the national debt - plus paying the oil-producing countries who in some cases might be helping extremist organisations.

But does this mean that US Energy Policy is funding both sides of the war on terror?

"The man I met in Pennsylvania who lost his job but can't even afford the gas to drive around and look for a new one - he can't afford four more years of an energy policy written by the oil companies and for the oil companies; a policy that's not only keeping gas at record prices, but funding both sides of the war on terror and destroying our planet in the process."
