I just finally got around to watching this, and found it deeply moving. It's hard to imagine a time when there could be genuine civility and friendship accross the party divide, the way there was between Carter and Ford. I pray that somehow, some way, our nation can get that back.

I was incensensed that NPR chose not to air a single clip of Carter during All Things Considered even though they aired clips of Rumsfeld.

Absolutely unbelievable that they would play clips of Rummy and not Carter. :argh:

I'm so glad that I persuaded my entire family to stop donating to NPR.

I have to say Jimmy Carter is a class act and I have to say Ford was too (although I disagreed on his Nixon pardon). Thanks for posting it.

but I only got around to watching it just now, and it was posted over in GD instead of the video forum.

Jimmy is absolutely a class act. I think he must be just about the best human being ever to have held the office of President.
