1. Thank you. H&C!
I can't listen now because I've got to finish up my work so I can go register Obama voters tonight, so I can listen to many more of these speeches in future.

:D

13. I registered some great folks this evening --
A seventeen year old who will turn 18 just in time to cast his first vote on May 6th.
A young couple - college students - who were registering for the first time.
A brand new citizen who will get to vote this May and whose husband will take the citizenship oath in August - just in time to register in September to vote in November.

:D

3. This was a really excellent speech by Obama... where is Hillary's?
I've looked high and low here and cannot find
any reporting on Hillary's big economy speech.
How did the two compare? No snickering... I'm just curious.

I did catch a glimpse of her on a store window TV
and she was orange and underlit. It looked really bizarre.
What was the deal with that?

4. Thanks for posting this H & C. I wish some of the HRC devotees would actually
listen to the substance of these speeches and compare with the mis-statements/fabrications of her campaign and decide whether they want to continue on the path with a president they can't trust to tell the truth and who acts secretively (TAX RETURNS) or whether they are open for something new.

7. He's a great teacher
I can't describe how good it is to see someone running for office that gets up there and then, is not afraid to take a moment to look back at the country and give it not only words of encouragement, but also tells us what needs to be done to fix our corrupt institutions.

8. I really like the idea
Of having a true constitutional scholar like Obama as president. Or actually even having someone that can speak normally for a change.

9. Mayor Bloomberg intro - took no sides......Speech Text linked below

"I'm glad that Sen. Obama has chosen come to our city to speak out on the economy. There will be plenty of opinions on what he has to say, this is New York, after all. And I'm not sure that all of us will agree with every idea, myself included," he said. "But it is critical we know where each candidate stands as we make perhaps the most important decision of our lives next November."

12. I haven't heard this eloquent and informed speaking style since Al Gore's speeches.
It gives me goose-bumps.

Now if Obama could just get used to speaking through the applause as effectively as Gore did, that would make him the best orator going.

15. I was watching CNN and the rest of corporate media this
morning and watched for a time the wall to coverage of Bush regurgitating his chicken in ever pot trash (for which he has done every thing in his power to make sure didn't happen) and when I had had enough spoon fed garbage and watching the corporate lapdogs cooing in wonderment; I switched over to the DU front page and clicked on the Obama speech. I watched the real deal talking about real issues (which his past has pr-oven he will do his best to achieve) watching him expound elegantly on those issues that are facing us and threatening the very foundations of what this country has stood for since the founding fathers; I Thought to myself after watching the two, The blowhard, Airhead and the Messiah, what a monumental difference and yet some of us are contemplating just more of the same by half; though imo Hill is very smart and has a very good grasp of the monied DLC causes (think DiFi) and surly will continue those causes euphemistically called the third way; Somewhere between pug policies and democratic policies; However, imo still better by half than the pug candidate.

16. Finally, a politician that invokes the forefathers without putting intent in their mouths...
simply stating a fact and then moving on to a rational conclusion. Huh...that tactic might just WORK!
