1. Last time I heard some talk like that...
It was on a psychiatric crisis call.

4. Hey guys, I am an atheist. That said, there is nothing unusual
about what this christian lady just said. Everything she said is mainstream christianity - not psycho-ward stuff. I would like to hear from some lefty christians and see if they heard anything this lady said that was nutty or psycho - I don't think so...

5. OK, I'll give it a shot.
I wonder who she was addressing in that clip. Nothing she said strikes me as out of the ordinary for a typical non-denominational group, but knowing that she is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, it does seem a little odd. I belong to a different Lutheran synod and my impression of the WELS is that they are ultra-conservative and very staid. I would never expect to hear phrases like "I want to give a testimony" and "when I received Jesus at the age of 16" in a Wisconsin Synod church.

6. Well, I am not familiar with that particular Synod,

but as far as straight-up evangelical or fundamentalist or liberal christian churches go, it seems quite normal to me...

7. Do you want the insane in positions of power (Congress)? She can believe whatever
bullshit she wants. I have a problem with her being able to impose her christist delusions on this secular (but not reaally) nation.

Believing in the cloud-being in the sky and believing that imaginary entity possess you would seem to be a barrier to making rational decisions that have such impact.

8. I'm a Unitarian. Is that close enough?
You're right about this being mainstream Christianity, or at least Protestantism. I was not the least bit offended by it. There is nothing political in her statement, which is refreshing coming from a political personality. In fact, I found it a very interesting and sincere expression of her faith.

May God bless her and may the voters turn her out.

11. The important point here,
She is the Representative of a major wealth contingent in Minnesota, which used to be a Very Liberal state. The free thinkers are still there but this is a very clear picture of what the "oh, so very special" have in mind for the future. This woman employs many but insures none. And, look at her liplock on Geedub. We need to be mindful of people like this.

9. As a Minnesotan I am very ashamed of her. She can believe anything
she wants in her private life but when she brings her ideas to congress and tries to make me obey her then she is in the wrong.
