ONE DOLLAR Appeal for Tom Wyka NJ 11

Tom Wyka

Incumbent Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ11) has agreed to debate Tom Wyka the Democratic challenger, on October 27th. The League of Woman Voters will announce the details soon. Tom is DFA & PDA. Tom says the reason he is running is "this needs doing". I think that Rodney is a bit scared that Tom is getting some traction in what has been thought of as an "R" district. A 1000 person phone poll costs about 10k. Tom hasn't had the money to consider any polling, but Rodney does. So either Rodney is being nice, and agreeing to a debate, or he thinks he needs to debate. Our canvass effort is a bit larger than the Essex County Menendez for Senate canvass effort. & Our people are ALL VOLUNTEERS. So by now, Rodney knows we are covering Morris County like a rug.

Tom Wyka is supposed to be a long shot this year, running in what is considered a safe "R" seat. This race was not on anyones radar. Tom is now the underdog. And underdogs can win.

We have a very modest direct mail goal, with a cost of $30,000. The entire staff, like me, are volunteers. I haven't even gotten a free tee-shirt. Let me also note, Tom Wyka has stated that he will run twice. The thinking, is that it would take 2 times to beat Rodney. Well now I am not so sure.

1. I like his web page, good focus on local involvement in what is
by definition a local campaign. Every House race doesn't get the luxury of national funding, and Mr. Wyka seems to have addressed that head on at the grass roots. Kudos.
