Change of plans, change of duties.
I have been the go to guy for canvassing and street level recruiting. That appears to be over for me.
I can't go out in the sun anymore it appears. My doctor found a spot on my scalp. So it appears I will be stuck at headquarters answering the phone and data entry.

So this is a reminder to you that do the on the street organizing and such, protect your skin.

In a funk a bit, but I will do what I can to help lead our candidates to victory in Nov.

1. Ouch!
But I am sure you will find a way to be productive whether you are outside or inside. Hope the prognosis is good.

to take care of yourself when out on the streets. Use sunscreen, wear a hat.

3. I hear you.
I am of the blond persuasion. I am a big fan of sunscreen and hats. I also carry a water bottle, especially in the summer. It is good to stay well hydrated.

4. In our zeal we tend to forget our duty to our own well being.
It wasn't the political work that got me in trouble, it was being a mail carrier, a farm worker, an amateur cyclist, and a guy who didn't pass up a chance to work or play outdoors in all kinds of weather.

I know what you are talking about when it comes to staying hydrated. Walking 10 miles a day in 90 degree weather teaches you the importance of water in copious amounts.

When I teach people the fine art of canvassing I make sure they have water, I have SP 30 sunscreen, and I make sure they know the ins and outs of dealing with dogs. I case the precincts before I send someone out. There are some precincts I won't send high school kids to canvass. If I can't find an adult willing and able to walk that precinct, I do it myself.

6. I've had skin cancer and still do precinct walking.
It's been 3 years now and no recurrence.

Wear a hat and sunscreen.
Also if you go out in the evenings there's not much sun exposure.
