Thanks! My love to you all.
My dad finally completed his chemotherapy regimen today, and is in a cheerful mood, (I don't know if it's the predisnose or not), but the support through DU helped. Prognosis is excellent, and he has to go back to the doc's next week to meet with the radiologist to determine if Dad needs radiation therapy.

Is this common for lymphoma survivors?

1. I'm so glad your dad is doing well!
My friend who had lymphoma also had good results following chemo and didn't have any radiation afterward. However, my other friend who had Hodgkin's disease had both. Both of them are in excellent health now.

All my best to your dad for continued good health (and to you as well!) :pals:

4. yeah, I got both chemo and radiation.
Of course, that was back in the Olden Dayse and they threw the book at me, but treatment has changed a lot.

Congrats, Hawkeye - best of health to y'all!

6. 2nd update. Dad's visit with the radiologist
He was a complete nervous wreck (2 doc visits in 1 day) on Thursday. The good news: No radiation therapy needed for his lymphoma. Next step: PET/CT Scan next Thursday to see where his lymphoma stands, and if it's completely gone, then he'll be following up with the doc every 3 months.

At least this weekend, he gets to go visit his grandkids in Chicago.

7. That's great your dad doesn't need radiation!
I'm totally stressing about my first visit to the radiation oncologist tomorrow. I'll need it 5 days a week for 6 weeks. x(

8. Final update - Dad is cancer free!
PET scan yesterday showed clean, but indicates a possible problem with the lungs. The doc thinks it's chemo-related, not cancer-related. He has an followup appointment regarding that next Tuesday for some breathing test.

He had his first alcohol (He loves wine) for the first time in 6 months. He was almost asleep during dinner.

9. That's awesome news!
Hope they get his lung problem figured out quickly, but chemo can do that, I know.

Congrats! :toast:
