1. I have seen several posts like this.

A lot of non Hispanic/Latinos have absolutely no clue about how we think. It is very disappointing to me to come to a board that I thought was frequented by open minded people only to find that many of them put Latinos and other minorities into blocks.

I am Puerto Rican. My culture and the culture of someone from Mexico or South America is so different! I have a little more in common with Cubans and Dominicans because they are also from the Caribbean like my parents and my culture. People who don't understand that put us all into one lump and have no clue that we are not all exactly the same.

Non Hispanics/Latinos tend to lump us all int one group. Imagine if any of us lumped all Americans, British, Scottish, Irish, etc. in one group. Think we would have some people say "wait a minute.....'' I think so.

BTW, I see you are a Hillary supporter. So am I. I have been told by friends and relatives that Obama made a pit stop in Puerto Rico to pick up a check but didn't talk to any reporters. And the people there are not all that pleased with that.

:hi:

2. We're not a homogenous group in the least. On the DU one poster wrote HIspanics and Blacks don't
like each other. I informed the poster that there are many Afro-Hispanos or Afro-Latinos and are respected like any other immigrant nationality in the Americas. That Obama is Black and that Hillary is a White Woman does not matter. What matters is who will best represent our needs and concerns at the highest levels of government. Thanks for your post Desi and lets continue to educate the ignorant.
