On March 25 the Olympic flame will be lit in Olympia, Greece and travel to Beijing where it will begin a four month around the globe journey before returning to the Chinese capital to start the 2008 Summer Olympic Events on August 8, 2008. Last Thursday Play Fair 2008, an organization dedicated to end the abuse of labor rights to produce Olympic merchandise, launched their own around the globe relay called “Catch the Flame.” Participants are encouraged to visit the website “Caththeflame.org” where they can pass the message of workers rights to the International Olympic Committee in Beijing on May 1. On that day the final number of torchbearers will be passed onto the IOC along with personal messages. Play Fair has been in communication with the IOC ever since it uncovered violations of workers rights at Chinese factories licensed to produce products for the Beijing Olympics.
