Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) -- Officials have still not identified the victim of Monday night's industrial accident as the Albany International-Appleton-Wire plant.
Police responded to an injury report of a woman who had been crushed between machines.
The woman was taken to Baptist Hospital where she died from severe chest and arm injuries on Tuesday morning.
The death comes on the heels of the plant's recent announcement that it will soon close its doors.
That closing will affect more than 100 employees.
Workers were sent home after the incident and grief counseling is being made available.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating.
The plant makes materials for paper mills.
WSFA 12 News will have more on this story as it becomes available.
