Unions to march on Minneapolis banks Saturday

27 October 2011

MINNEAPOLIS - On Oct. 29 – the anniversary of the stock market crash that started the Great Depression – labor unions and working people will join Occupy Minnesota in a march on local banks.

“We’ll oppose their reckless pursuit of profit, regardless of the cost on people, jobs, and the environment,” the Minnesota AFL-CIO said in announcing the event.

The labor contingent will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at People’s Plaza, next to the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 S. 6th St., Minneapolis. Participants will gather at 10 a.m. to help make signs, banners and props for the march.
