SEIU-UHW has delivered petitions with more than18,000 signatures of Kaiser Permanente workers who want another union representation election scheduled as soon as possible. The National Labor Relations Board ordered a new union election for 45,000 Kaiser workers following a complaint from the National Union of Health Care Workers about improper actions allegedly taken by SEIU and Kaiser. SEIU-UHW said Wednesday that more than 18,000 Kaiser workers signed the petitions within the past two weeks in a show of support for SEIU. SEIU says NUHW wants to delay a new union election at Kaiser. This election is the largest union representation election since Ford Motor Company back in the 1940’s.
