As a Liberal for the last 25 years I have only 1 Question to all you jonny come latelys,
What took you so long? Why did it take them stealing your money and rights? why didn't you speak up when the the poor were getting the screws? Not that I not happy to see you on our side of the fence, But I was a voice in the wilderness with many of your ilk shouting me down for a very long time and a simple "Sorry dude, I was wrong, would be Sufficient". In return I will say I'm sorry you woke up in Martin Niemöller nightmare. I wish you all woke up sooner.

I know exactly what you're saying and find myself mildly frustrated by the Cool Du Jour of being on the side of unions. Mostly because I know it won't last.

2. So who is confessing their mistake to you. I'm still being dismissed
as wrong or radical.I would love to talk to one person who has broken the Beck-Limbaugh spell in my area.

4. I really did, too.
I'm sure it doesn't apply to all of you, but I would otherwise love to bend some of you over my aged knee for one hell of a spanking. And for the whiners dissing Obama, what are you thinking? TWO YEARS later and you want it all?????? I still think it will take a couple-three GENERATIONS to get it all. Unfortunately it ain't gonna happen because this country no longer can be steered from the left, thanks to fucked up education, greedy capitalist freaks, a conservative SCOTUS, etc etc etc etc etc ... I STILL BELIEVE Obama could come out swinging in his second term. I STILL believe that. His whole life, in my opinion, has embraced his promises -- and if you don't believe me, re-read his books. And for anyone who argues that Clinton was supposed to set us up for further advances for the left *but look where that got us*, I have two words for you: HANGING CHADS.

6. From a Strong Union Household and Liberal for 40+ years, this quote kinda sums up the anger I have
with the Obama administration:

Obama's team seeks new ways to fire up his base

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama rode a wave of voter passion in 2008 fed largely by intense dislike of President George W. Bush and the Iraq war, plus excitement among young and minority voters at the notion of electing the nation's first black president.

Now, as Obama cranks up his re-election campaign, all those factors are absent.

The president has many tools, of course, for inspiring and exciting potential voters. But he faces a different landscape, one in which key supporters are disappointed by concessions he has made to Republicans, and discouraged by huge Democratic losses last fall.

...

They say GOP-led efforts to end state workers' collective bargaining rights in Wisconsin and elsewhere are dramatically galvanizing the labor movement, a key Democratic constituency. Some union activists wish Obama would speak up more forcefully for them. But campaign aides say they think he is walking the right line by supporting unions without appearing unduly beholden to them.

With the Union effort to get Obama elected, he is beholden to them and he needs to stand up for the American Worker, no ifs, ands or buts. To say this out loud is dumbfounding. How do you answer something like this from the White House? If anyone had a doubt as to how this administration feels about us, it's pretty much summed up in that line I bolded and unlined.
