Age discrimination on the job from an older person

Today I listened to somebody in my union complain about our employer hiring older people that skew our retirement fund. We should be hiring 20-30 year old people. Nobody in their 50-60s they work a few years and get a pension.

I guess this person that is ready to retire doesn't know about age discrimination.

even in the best union shop - you can't be vested into the pension fund in a couple of years...

But if you start at age 60-64 and work 5 years....

I have interviewed for jobs I was more then qualified for ....
tons of experience .... then was told sorry ... a more qualified person
applied ... and we are going with them ...
