Striking milk drivers dump thousands of gallons of milk on New York City streets - 1921

November 3, 1943 - A United Mine Workers strike that triggered a U.S. government takeover of the mines ended with a contract providing higher pay and other benefits. The government takeover was done to prevent interruption of production during World War II.
