FINDLAY, Ohio -- The mayor of a northwest Ohio town says a community celebration is being canceled because local business leaders weren't happy that the event was being organized by union leaders.
Findlay mayor Pete Sehnert says he didn't realize there was so much animosity between unions and companies in the town.
Union leaders say the event planned for this coming weekend wasn't intended to be a labor event.
The event was to include a parade along with food and entertainment.
Findlay's mayor says that the city is mainly a non-union, Republican area and that most of the speakers lined up were Democrats and union people.
He says the city will try to hold the event next year without organized labor's help.
