Teamsters Union Local 773 files labor complaints against Coca Cola Bottling and Supreme Delivery Service

BETHLEHEM, April 16th- The International Brotherhood of Teamters (IBT) Union Local 773, Hamilton Street in Allentown, filed complaints against several employers in the Lehigh Valley alleging they violated the National Labor Relations Act (NLRAct).

On February 23rd, 2009 the union filed a Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charge with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region Four in Philadelphia alleging Coca-Cola Bottling of Lehigh Valley, 2150 Industrial Drive in Bethlehem, through its agents violated the NLRAct.

The union alleges on the complaint in or around September 2008, the employer retaliated and threatened to discontinue bargaining unit members breaks because a shop steward filed a grievance;

• the employer on or around February 2009 retaliated against and threatened to lengthen work days for members of the bargaining unit and threatened a shop steward that his new position with higher pay would be revoked for filing grievances;
• in or around January 2009, the employer disciplined a shop steward for his union activity; and
• on or around January 2009 the employer violated the NLRAct by unilaterally implementing a disciplinary policy
