Why do we continue to foster trade with foreign countries which offer only inexpensive goods produced by cheap labor? In doing so, aren’t we dismissing the efforts of generations of Americans who fought and died for living wage standards, child labor laws, environmental laws, and the American standard of living?
This is one out of 92 questions that were presented to the "Moral Dimensions of Economic Recovery" forum held at Florida Gulf Coast University on March 22. The forum was organized by Community Conversations of The News-Press and a senior class in the College of Arts and Sciences.
