Update: I'm on the 3:30 to 11:30 PM shift for a month

I started the afternoon shift today. I'll be on it for a month. Then a month of nights. I'm in study for my EPA test mode until Oct. 30th. I'll have 1 or 2 posts here a day until Oct. 31st.

1. I've been on the 4pm-12am shift for a year and a half.
Wish I could trade off once in a while. Of course I did 10pm-8am for 7 or 8 months and that was worse.

3. I'm on a 3pm to 11pm shift
I'm also on a 3pm to 11pm shift. Because of my commute I have to leave for work by 1:45pm at the latest and don't get home until after 12:15am. Considering the alternatives (8pm to 8am three days a week plus 4 hours some other day) or 10pm to 8am four days a week I'm quite happy with this shift.

5. i only have a 2 mile commute so that's no problem
i can wake up at 330 and shower and still be on time. What do you do?

I actually liked the 4 day/10 hour shift. Wish I could have that on a 10am-8pm shift or 9-7.

2. My dear Omaha Steve...
Please take care of yourself, OK?

Shifting your circadian rhythms like that is tough...

4. I work 2-10:30 pm and it's about the only shift I could do.
I can't get up early in the morning and go to work, I don't know how people do it. I need about 5 hours to relax in the AM and lounge.
