Are we looking at desperation from this White House?
When the NSA story broke, Bush came out to tell everyone that the story was the "elections" in Iraq, not this story. Yet, three weeks later, it not only has legs, but it's a centipede. It has many legs.

Then, Bush goes down to Crawford for the Christmas holiday. Most everyone knows by now that Crawford is usually the place where they brainstorm their evil deeds. Yet, when they came back, all they had was the idea to investigate the "leaker" of the NSA "secrets". So, a month later, they are still pre-occupied by the NSA spying story. It ain't going away and they know it.

So what's their next move? Do they invite Senator Spector over to the White House for a little tete a tete? What will they attempt to bribe him with? Most everyone knows that also is part of their method of operation. However, from their obsession with this issue, even at Crawford, one might surmise they are in desperation mode. Beware...

1. If they aren't desperate, they're idiots.
The administration is in the cross hairs now.

17. But wouldn't that mean they can't protect the homeland?!?...
They're in a double bind. Launching a domestic terror attack would confirm their incompetency. Not launching one would maintain focus on their political problems.

4. That's the only option that they have left
They thought Katrina would be the one but they blew it big time and thank god for the internets people caught on to their game real quick this time. So now what? The only way to stop the speeding train of indictments that are coming down will be another Pearl Harbor event with nukes or germs. Fortunately, I think it's too late for such an event to do them much good.

5. I think it's too late also but you know how cornered rats are.
It wouldn't susprise me one iota. I've witnessed desperation before, I've lived it and I see it in this cabal.

to their grand plans for Armageddon.

6. As always--.ATTACK!
This is the mantra of both Cheney and Rove. Attack, always ATTACK!

As the pressure on them builds they can be expected to strike out more and more aggressively. The conditions are ripe for a perfect storm.

Fitzgerald is expected to pop up again soon with another indictment.
Abramhof is about to spill the beans on the GOP's illegal money machine.
Arlen Specter is going to open hearings into Snoopgate

The only question is who will be the target of the engagement?

Will Bush/Cheney play it small and turn on the media lapdog that's snapped at their fingers?

Will they invoke inherent powers in the US and start shutting down the pesky blogs that seem to never let any of their misdeeds be forgotten?

Or will they go long, launching several score of cruise missles into Iraq?

Bush/Cheney is crazy, any attack is possible, but an attack is inevitable.

8. Be prepared for anything, the BFEE will not give up power easily.
Nixon 2.0 (via the brains behind him, since he doesn't have a clue himself) could stage another attack, actually have the balls to attack Iran, claim they found Bin Laden, or any number of diversions to distract the attention AWAY from this story. And I bet a dollar right now that the Iraq elections are going to cause a huge problem for them. The "Democracy" they hope for will be lost in the wind when the Administration flunkies are thrown out. Notice there is NO news out of Iraq regarding the election.

10. God only knows what dirt they've picked up
on Spector through their illegal snooping. Sadly, I suspect that J. Edgar's files had nothing on their secret dossiers, which will be used as needed to blackmail, bribe, cow and cudgel all dissent into submission. Hope & pray I'm wrong. SG

13. My thoughts are:
They will deliberately let the Patriot Act Expire.

They will then use their propaganda TV networks to blame it all on the Democrats...spread the word that Democrats have left our country vulnerable to a terrorist attack.

They will then launch attack number 2 mid to late 2006 and blame it on the Democrats because THEY let the Patriot Act expire.

They will then rally the idiotic sheeple with fear, fear, fear and steal another election with their evoting machines.

Then they will implement their fascist governemnt, full board.

They MUST attack this country again. They KNOW people are onto their bullshit lies. The ONLY way out for them is another attack. My guess: A dirty bomb. The missing Uranium story has been brought back by the WH propaganda machine for a REASON......an attack. In order to not be blamed for the attack themselves, the PA must go and to do that, they are letting it expire and will blame it on the Dems. Just watch.

16. NSA
I wouldn't get too excited about this one or relate it to "their fear" This administration has known about the NY story for over a year and they knew it was coming. If it really was a story on National Security, Bush could have legally stopped it and would have if he had a leg to stand on. So why, after a year would a law suit be thrown at the NYT? Doesn't make sense, why not a law suit to stop it before now? No, this is something for the people to take their eye off the bouncing ball and the NYT knows it and is part of the game No, the big news here isn't the investigation, the big news is it won't go anywhere. This is just a game and only the latest in a series of "new rules." Make the government the victim, not the rest of us. Through this investigation George's justice department will show us just how dangerous it is if they cannot spy on us. Please, after 5 years our borders are still wide open, our nuclear plants are unprotected, our water supply is unprotected and all that stands between us and terror is the governments ability to spy on Quaker Groups and Vegans. Oh please.
