Controversial Conservative Bill Bennett Becoming CNN Political Analyst In
First on TVNewser: Controversial conservative talk show host Bill Bennett will become a CNN political analyst early in 2006, TVNewser has learned.

This month's departure of Bob Novak left the network without a high-profile conservative commentator. But Bennett, a former Education Secretary and drug czar, seems to be a strange choice to add a little red to the channel. Of all the conservatives CNN could sign, why Bennett? In September, he came under fire from all sides of the political sphere for his assertion that aborting "every black baby in this country" would reduce the crime rate. Many members of Congress asked Bennett to apologize. The White House condemned his remarks. (Bennett said his comments were mischaracterized.)

Bennett was a Fox News contributor, but his contract has expired. A CNN spokesperson couldn't confirm the signing.

1. CNN just sinks lower and lower
Hard to believe anyone watches them anymore. Zero integrity.

I guess some people like to be misinformed and take blood pressure meds.

2. Bennett on CNN? Ha! He should be hosting Celebrity Video Poker Showdown
... or maybe making some kinky "family values" videos with his Vegas dominatrix...

4. CNN desperately hopes he's controversial

It's all about ratings... and they want a lightning rod like
that cia-outing stooge whatshisname that they just fired

Franky I think Bennett is a bore... a drone... a mean spirited hypocrite
and I wouldn't watch him even CNN paid me. So I won't.
Even if it is Celebrity Poker Crossfire,

5. Hahahaha - CNN now hiring FAUX rejects!
If anybody watched CNN anymore this would blow up in their face big time. Probably nobody'll notice though. I might turn on the wolfie show the first time pig bennett shows up, just to watch paul beluga give him a blow job.:puke:

6. And Begala and Carville and Brazille will treat him like an old friend
The "gee, are you going to <fill in the Washington insider's name here> party tomorrow?" gang continues.

Anyone still wonder why we lose elections???

12. Carville sleeps with Evils number one mouthpiece. He's
used to whoring. Whore first, Democrat ( and American) second.

14. Agreed. Carville has become a tool.
And his wife is looking more and more like Jack Nicholson's Joker. Whoever applies her makeup hates her, period.

9. I sound like a broken record, but just step away from the remote.
The only informative, fair, and balanced cable news program is ESPN Sportscenter. Everything else, barring the spare Olbermann thrown out to generate topics of discussion for Scarborough, is like sticking the GOP firehose in your mouth.

10. I agree
have you seen what 20/20 is like lately, although I never watch the show, I caught it with strudel last night, he was claiming global warming was a myth and we have plenty of room to store garbage and chop down trees.

15. Good advice that will go unheeded, carpet
many DUers continue to have a fascination with GOP propaganda, and insist on watching it every day and posting dozens of threads about it every day. As if there were ever something new.

TURN IT OFF, PEOPLE

It's not just for sports channels anymore, I see. Yippee.

16. Assuming this is true, what pisses me off is that even idiots like Bennett
who have been EXPOSED to be a hypocritical fraud, still appear in public as some kind of authority and mouthpiece WITHOUT SHAME, and no one seems to give them a hard time!

I'm definitely a believer that people aren't perfect, but if you have made a name grinding a "moral values" axe for the right with a best selling book called the "Book of Virtues" and then are exposed to be a degenerate gambler, you shouldn't be crucified, but you should, however, slink off into the darkness, never to be heard from again.

Hey, everything's fair... Bennett should be allowed to be on TV and radio, but it should be a "Howard Stern rules" kind of scenario, where the guests and opponents on his show ask him at EVERY appearance, "hey Bill, what's your NFL pick of the week?" or about the best casino comps in Vegas and Atlantic City...

At least Hugh Grant showed up and took his lumps on the Tonight Show after his soliciting bust.

or, conversely, he's currently a 17-1 longshot to see the summer on CNN. And remember, the Bookie of Values needs your cash because the slots don't play themselves.
