bush: "defeat the terrorists in Iraq so we do not have to face them here"

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=59088

Remarks by the President on the Global War on Terror

<snip>

As Iraqi forces take more responsibility, this will free up coalition forces to conduct specialized operations against the most dangerous terrorists, like Zarqawi and his associates, so we can defeat the terrorists in Iraq so we do not have to face them here at home. (Applause.) We will continue to hand over territory to the Iraqis so they can defend their democracy, so they can do the hard work, and our troops will be able to come home with the honor they have earned.

1. Impeach the terrorists here
so we don't get dragged into illegal wars over there.

4. Bush should be shipped to Iraq ...
... then we can fight ALL of the terrorists OVER THERE, instead of having to fight 'em here at home.

5. That makes as much sense as
Setting fire to your neighbors' house to keep your own from burning down. It doesn't protect your house, and it pisses off the neighbors.

7. Or a BETTER idea...
WHACK the neighbors since they're very likely conspiring to off you as well. Granted you have no proof, but there's ALWAYS that slim chance you definitely don't want to take!

6. He sounds like a broken record with that talking point.
Fight them there so we don't have to fight them here. Every Repuke who calls into C-Span in defense of the war echoes that line.

8. Does * care when terrorists hop'n'skip over to India and kill us there?
Well, corporate interests at any rate...

Not just kill... there's a lot of juicy information and information-technology gear that the terrorists would love to take. And I suspect that'll blow the US wide-open for things that make today's Identity Theft problem a sunny sunday picnic by comparison.

National security. Bush made a cardinal mistake by allowing offshoring to continue and expand.

And with the coming economic depression, people would probably hope that terrorists come and blow them up. It's going to be a paradigm shift, the likes nobody knows about - and how many have studied the original Depression? Few, that's for sure. (besides, in public, I've noticed more people drooling over low prices than caring or even thinking about the future. They will be the worst hit.)

9. Facts AWOL for Fallacy George! What about New Orleans?
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 01:31 PM by Democrats_win
Are we really safer? At what cost? 2210 lives, half a trillion dollars? Would we have been better off going after OBL and leaving Saddam in place? Why didn´t he provide 800 Army rangers as requested to go after OBL at Torra Bora? Why were satellites taken off the hunt for OBL to go after Iraq´s oil?

Worse: The fact that we haven´t been attacked does not prove that his foolish adventures in Iraq are preventing further attacks. Fallacy George!

11. Bush can keep the military fighting the terrorists he created
in Iraq, but he's not doing a thing to stop any others. Assuming Bin Laden and Al Qeada are behind 9/11, what's Iraq got to do with anything?
