Bill Clinton - Some Days You Just Get Lucky
http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=1489944

"BANGOR, Maine Jan 10, 2006 — Former President Bill Clinton surprised U.S. troops arriving from Iraq when his refueling stop at the Bangor International Airport coincided with the arrival of two flights carrying soldiers. ......"

Once again, a real President.

2. You have to hand it to Bill. He always knows just what to do;
just what to say; just how to act in any situation. It isn't just that he is so smart and politically savvy; it's also that he is a genuine 'man of the people' - he actually enjoys and is energized by contact with folks...any folks.

5. Yes. There aren't many people who can throw the protocol book away ...
... and just do something instinctively without having it look clumsy, contrived, or inappropriate. Clinton has that gift. He knows when to follow procedure, and when to break away from it to create an even better impression. Even if he's thought this out in advance, he can somehow make it seem like it's a spontaneous gesture that considers other people, rather than himself.

Bush also breaks protocol, but he generally ends up looking ignorant and charmless when he does that.

3. too bad the Repubs wasted so much time trying to impeach him
He could have gone after Bin Laden if they didn't waste so much time and money on getting him out.

10. Clinton did go after Bin Ladin. Sandy Berger and Richard Clarke did
advise Condi Rice on the growing danger of Al Quida before Bush took over the Oval Office.

Then we have alito who believes women and minorities don't belong in Skull and Bones Yale and one man, one vote is extreme. God. Same species, different planet.

8. That's it in a nutshell - "A class act".
Bill Clinton has more class and gravitas in one pinkie than the whole Republican establishment put together. There were things that I disagreed with Bill on and things that I wish he'd done (and wish he hadn't done), but when he was president I felt that my family and my family's future were safe - I haven't felt that way since...

9. HEY!!!!!!!!!
My daughters S.O. came in through Maine yesterday and arrived at Ft. Stewart Ga. about 3.a.m. this morning!!! I haven't talked to him yet, just her, because he's exhausted (they had a ceremony at 4 a.m.), but I hope he got to meet Bill!!!

This fellow is back from Iraq after 14 MONTHS. We are so very happy he's alive. His patrol was hit over eight times since August and we have been on pins and needles. He was awarded the Bronze Star for valor recently for saving the lives of some of his guys. It was a horrible incident where they went out on a 1 hour patrol and were pinned down for eight hours (3 soldiers dead). But he's here now safe and I hope sound.
