Anyone watching the story about the FEMA trailers on AC360?
FEMA is moving some of the trailers originally bought for the Gulf region to New Jersey in case a hurricane hits the eastern seaboard, or in case of a TERRORIST ATTACK.
WTF? And then the reporter doing the story says that the reason FEMA can't move most of the trailers to the Gulf region is that THEIR OWN RULES state they cannot put trailers/mobile homes in flood prone areas. What a fucking waste. And how many people from the Gulf region are still without even a semi-permanent place to live? And are we supposed pat FEMA on the head for moving trailers into a place that may get hit by a hurricane? What about the places that already DID?
1. This is such bullshit...if Fema really wanted to make those
trailers available....Skeletor would say "screw the rules", we will do what we have to do....they implemented those rules so the poor could not move back into their neighborhoods...
How much do you think it will cost to move those trailers.....millions...? They won't move them by railroad...no they will do it the most expensive way.....most of the trailers are so poorly built they probably won't make the whole trip....
This is criminal....there are people in Mississippi that are still living in tents....:grr:
A 10 year old could figure out a sensible, less expensive solution to helping the hurricane survivors than the US Government can! They always have to go six times around the block and sideways to get where they're supposed to be, and still they show up at the wrong address!
10. Sometimes I think it's totally absent, expecially since the
current residents bullied their way into the WH!
I'm in South Seattle, myself! Wish you had been at the Seattle area DU Meet-Up we had in January! We are probably going to have a barbeque meet-up this summer. Be great if you could come!
