Is it me or isn't that an uncommon oversight? They aren't calling him the Republican Governor. Google News links don't lead with it, either.

1. I read an article earlier that you had to get to almost the end of page 2

to find out he was a republican. As a matter of fact they mention his commuting of the death sentences before his party affilation. If you are a skimmer like a lot people are you would have thought he was a democrat. If you didn't read the article in its entirety.
